China is a huge country that is starve on energy and it is not surprising that this drive the world 2nd largest economy  to look for additional oil and gas supplies from Africa and eastern block nations such as Russia.

At the same time the central government also knows for the sure fact that the nation needs to look into alternative source of energy such as solar and wind powered sources. The focus on alternative energy is not driven by concerns for environmental pollution as China is well known for putting emphasis on economy expansion over environmental pollution control.

The shift and focus to alternative energy in that country is driven by the need to sustain energy consumption which in many ways hindered by increase demands which drove the energy price to spiral out of control. China do not subsidize petrol and gas as much as other countries such as Indonesia or Malaysia.
