Baoding in Chinese literally means protector of the city. Baoding of Hebei is a medium size city located south of Beijing. It is known as the southern gate and satellite city of the capital of China. The city is located between 3 major cities, namely Beijing Tianjin and Shijiazhuang the capital of Hebei province.

Baoding is an ancient city with rich history. Don't let that fool you into thinking that the city is backward. It's close proximity to the major cities makes it a strategic location for development as the country power itself into the becoming the 2nd largest economic power of the world.

Baoding has been earmark as the first carbon positive city of the country. Clean energy is central theme of the city's environmental friendly blueprint future planning. Electric bicycles are common sights of the city and this has certainly help to cut down carbon emission. Solar powered traffic lights are common sights even though not many aware of it.
