China was called the sick man of Asia during the late 19th century and the leading up to the early twentieth century. It was a time whereby the middle kingdom was perplexed and rife with internal government conflicts, division and foreign interventions.
The derogatory term somewhat befits the Chinese during those dark days, at least to certain extent as the majority of the population indulge in drugs such as opium, thanks to the British traders who exported it to the mainland.
Times and tide has changed in today's world. I bet you may not know that China is no longer the the sickest nation in the world so to speak (even though in terms of population, it might still stand as the highest in the world for those admitted to the hospital or needing treatment of somesorts.
On the contrary the United States by virtue of the size of the healthcare budget, the number of citizens receiving healthcare easily outrank others to be as the number one in the world. So is the USA the new sick man of the West?
Healthcare spending in the US constitutes over 16% of the country GDP, the highest percentage amongst developed nations. Medical spending in the year 2010 alone exceeds 2.3 million US dollars, a staggering amount.
The rate of increase for health cost surpassed wage increment by a factor of at least 3 times and over sixteen percent of the population do not have any health insurance. Government spending for hospitals and related activities expected to surpassed 60 billion dollars each year!.
If President Obama gets reelected then the Obamacare policy which is popular known will surely takes effect and this implies the entire cost of the health expenditures will likely to quadruple as the government sought to provide free insurance coverage for every single of the citizen.
It is indeed mind boggling and hard to figure out why a developed nation like the US need to spend trillions of dollars on the population medical care. Obviously, there are more sick people in the country relative to other developed nations.
It is not surprising that the FDA is working in cahoot with big pharma to fleece on the population by providing expensive and ineffective treatments for even mild and common diseases.
Despite all the advances in medical and biological technology and science, the US food chain is making its population more sick than ever. Reports by the US CDC indicates one third of the adults are obese and overweight!.
Is US the sickest nation in the world? Well, you be the judge!

Is Anti Aging Cream Safe?
Anti Aging Topical Skin Care Products
There are all sorts of anti aging products in the market. It's hard to determine nor underpin if they are effective or not given all the over hypes and promotions put up by the big cosmetic and youth preserving industries.Anti aging and wellness products are categorized as 'cosmetic' in nature and are therefore not regulated by the FDA nor required any approval for sales by the health authority of most countries.
Some of the so-called 'proprietary' core ingredients are not labelled clearly on many of such products. You never know what accumulates into your body and the potential side effects as a result of prolong treatment.
Topical Treatment Not As Safe As You Think
Final Thoughts
As of today, health authority of most countries do not have any unified establish standard body to adhere to so as to regulate and monitor the risk associated with nano particles used in wellness topical products. As the saying goes, you should not apply stuffs on your skin which you will not put into your mouth. How To Slow Down Premature Aging - Balance Body Chemistry
Anti Aging Products Are Big Business
Anti-aging cosmetic products span billion dollar industries. There are all sorts of wellness and so called growing old reversal products targeted both men and women of all ages, sold worldwide with no sign of slowing down. Can these products really preserve youth ?Can topical solution, serum or cream applied to the face or the rest of body rejuvenate and slow down premature aging? Likewise can those hundreds and thousands of brands of vitamin and mineral pills sold worldwide keeps you young?
My wife always make it a point to replenish her stockpiles of Lancome products, specifically those targeting wrinkle, crow feet, sunburn, black spots and etc. One fine day I told her I just use normal soap to for shower and washing my face and I seems to have much better skin complexion than her.
I am not an anti aging experts nor am I qualified to judge and make any claims as to whether all those wellness and cosmetics effective or not. To certain extent I believe some of these products do help; the question though is how effective and whether if there are any side effects.
As the saying goes, beauty is only skin dip; most of the treatment or wellness treatment done on the outside such as the skin as well as supplement intake has limited effect in maintaining youth.
Your body is make up of billions of cells interacting in complex chemistry. Medical research and studies has shown that accelerated premature aging occurs when the body chemistry becomes unbalance (becomes more acidic in nature).
It All Starts From The Inside
The human body will do its best to maintain equilibrium, failing of which triggers inflammation; this happens when the blood becomes too acidic and cause your body chemistry to go haywire . Studies indicates such imbalance condition accelerate the process of growing old.
Some virus and bacteria are known to thrive in acidic environment. Your immune system is affected and your risk of contracting cancer increase multiple fold. Tumor growth is harder to control and managed under acidic pH environment.
Furthermore your body will pull minerals from the bones in attempt to neutralize acidic condition. This has the adverse effect of triggering osteoporosis as your body lose ability to generate bone matrix to replace those that wears off. As a result your bones gets thinner and thinner.

Facts Or Fallacy - GMO Nightmare
The Genetic Engineering Nightmare
Saturday, May 26, 2012
Food Today, Cancer And Hunger Tomorrow
Genetically modified food using laboratory engineered organism, known as GMO is making its way into the human food chain. GMO biotechnology has been hailed by some scientists as the answer to the famines and hunger of the world. Is it truly the case or have we open a Pandora box that will lead us to the brink of major catastrophic nightmare and destruction?
A Man Made Disaster Waiting To Happen
Some of these genetically engineered crops and plants can tolerate prolong exposure to highly toxic and dangerous herbicides and pesticides without impacting its growth. Farmers are encouraged to use more and more of cheaper and dangerous chemicals to control weeds and insects since it will not affect these modified crops.
It all seems good for the consumer but wait till you realize what side effects and known risk those companies responsible for GMO are intentionally hiding from you. First thing first, these crops and plants contains highly toxic ingredients in its genetic structures. Studies has indicated that animals exposed to these herbicide and pesticide resistant crops develops cancer!
Not much is disclosed by major corporations involved in this industry (one of the more well known company that research and supply GMO crop is Monsanto.)
China is one of the proponent of this biotechnology and it has practically go all out to support GMO industries. It is a disaster waiting to happen given the fact that not much is known about the long term side effects of consuming these man made crops. The side effects on animals were brush off as insignificant and ax well as for the fact that this is big industry with lots of money to make.

Before Meal Oral Medication - Avoid This Mistake
One common mistake that many people made in regards to oral medication (for any prescription drug that you need to take before meal as advice ) is eating too soon after the intake of medicine.
You should wait for at least fifteen to twenty minutes before you eat. It does not make sense to eat immediately after you take medication isn't it? It takes some time for the drug compound to enter the blood stream so be patience and wait for a couple of minutes.

Sleeping Pills Can Cause Cancer!
It's really perplexing that sleep aid drugs or sleeping pills can cause cancer!. The exact mechanism that leads to the big 'C' disease is not known but apparently most big Pharma that conducted their drug trials and experiments on animals yield terrible outcomes. The animals given sleep aid drugs contracts cancer!.
Another shocking news is that some of these dangerous pills only help to increase rest by mere eleven minutes!. With all the potential side effects, it is really worth the risk? I am not sure what to make out of it, the worst part of the whole damn thing is that side effects associated with these medications are never made known to the patient.
For further information, please check out Dr Mercola's article on the link between sleeping pills and cancer.

Do You Really Need 8-Hour Sleep Every Day?
Are you going to be in deep trouble, is your health going to be impacted if you sleep less than eight hours everyday? Doctors and health practitioners believed so but the fact of the matter is that in today's fast paced stressful environment, more than often it is not possible to do so.
Nowadays and I am sure not just me but the majority of adults go to bed no earlier than 11pm evening and then wake up 6am or even earlier the next day. If everyone needs at least 8 hours of sleep everyday then I bet majority of the adults are in deep trouble.
My dad lived up to a ripe good old age of 84 before he passed on. He sleep for just slightly over 5 hours everyday, for almost thirty years as far as i recalled. Apart from diabetes which only sets in when he was into his 70s, he was in overall good health so to speak.
I am not sure how on the 8-hour sleep came about, just like no one knows based on what findings and data doctor says we must drink at least six glass of water everyday. As a matter of fact there is now mounting evidence indicating that over consumption of water can be damaging and risk to your health!.
There is no doubt that sleep deprivation and constant sleep disruption can be really damaging to health. Sleep disorder and lack of proper rest is the one the biggest contributor to cancer and other serious diseases. It is a known fact that lack of rest can lower immune system and cause hormones to become unbalance.
The key contention though is in regards to the number of hours a person need to sleep everyday. The way I think about it, I believed the 8-hour is a figure that comes out from no where and there is no data to substantiate it. It is probably a myth much like the six glass of water.
You won't die ahead of your time if you sleep less than eight hours everyday and your health will not deteriorate because of it. Some may require more rest, some require less, the exact amount of time one needs to recharge so to speak depends on individual.
It Is About Quality Sleep And Not The Number Of Hours
As the saying goes, too much good thing is a bad thing and that applies to sleep as well. Did you know that some health experts warns that sleeping more than 8 hours a day can endanger your health!
On one side they advice that everyone needs at least 8-hour of rest and on the other hand they also warned that sleeping over 8 hours a day can pose serious health problems!
The crux of the matter is not insomuch about how many hours you need but rather how well you sleep. Quality of sleep matters more because if are able to rest say just five or six hours everyday, you are still doing fine if you sleep well.
So what can you make up about the eight hour sleep mantra? Forget about it, it is a myth just like any other expounded by some health 'experts' with no data to substantiate such claim. Whatever the case, make sure you sleep well, that's the bottom line.

Eat Fat To Lose Fat
One of the common false assumption that many people has in regards to weight loss is that they think reduction of fat intake will hep to lose weight. This is far from the truth.
As a matter of fact, you probably need to take fat to reduce fat. Sounds illogical but there are mounting scientific evidences to substantiate this theory in addition to testimony from people all over the world.
There are various types of fats but not all them are beneficial. Here are some of the benefits associated with oil found in some fatty diet that helps to boost your health.
- Safflower, flaxseed and fish oil can help to reduce blood sugar and increase good cholesterol.
- Helps to combat premature aging and reduce inflammation.
- The oil in some fatty diet is rich in polyunsaturated or monounsaturated fat, both which are known to help in protecting heart.
- Our bodies need healthy fats for instance our brain is made of fats and cholesterol
- Fat soluble vitamins (A,D,E & K) can't be absorved unless fat is present in our body.
- Oleic acid is an unsaturated fatty acid helps in weight loss. The exact mechanism is not known , there are indications that it helps to keep little fat cells from growing big and at the same time maintain muscle which helps to burn fat.
My wife enjoys fatty food diet but not me because I find it a bit difficult to digest. When we go to KFC for a quick bite (as much as I know that KFC fast food is pretty much unhealthy, junk food to be precise) she will will consume the skin and leave the tender moisture meat for me.
She also enjoy taking all sorts of nuts for snacks, for instance, Macadamia, Hazelnuts, Almonds and etc. She don't like tooth sweetening stuffs such as chocolates, ice cream and pretty much prefer to take anything that is fatty so to speak.
Despite her high fat diet, her weight still seems to hover around normal range (between 49kg to 50kg is considered normal and ideal for a woman of her height of 160cm). She is not the sporty type and her routine exercise involved taking a short stroll after dinner.
In summary, reduce fat intake is not the answer to weight loss. You need to reduce sugar and carbohydrate consumption, exercise more and live a healthy life style.

The Link Between Cancer & Dental Treatment
It's been years since I last visited the dentist. Some say I am stupid because as an employee of a multinational corporation, every employee are entitled to free dental treatment of up to two hundred dollars a year and one can't exchange it for cash even it he or she did not spend it.
Most employees will take the opportunity to go for their annual dental checkout which includes cleaning and polishing so long as it don't exceed the allocated amount. The reason why I don't make it a point to visit the dentist is not because I am afraid of the pain or being lazy but rather I am not comfortable with the sterile procedure.
I recalled a less than pleasant dental visit incident four years ago. After the regular dental treatment session which involve polishing and regular cleaning, I succumbed to high fever for almost four days.
The doctor said I had minor blood infection, I was more inclined to believe that it got to do with the dental procedure because there were some bleeding in my gum during the treatment. Well, I am not in a position to be one hundred percent sure that it was cause by the oral cleaning though.
Check out this article on the possibility of the link between cancer and root canal dental procedure. I won't be surprised about this because blood contamination is one of the most dangerous and surest way to contract diseases.

Treat Chicken Pox and Shingles Effectively
Both chicken pox and shingles are highly contagious viral conditions that are characterized by painful skin rash. Caused by the herpes virus, the earliest symptoms of both conditions include headache, fever, a general feeling of malaise, sore throat and swelling of the face.
Treatment for both conditions is available in the form of Acyclovir tablets.
What is Acyclovir?
Acyclovir belongs to a family of drugs known as guanosine analogue antiviral drugs. Its one of the most commonly used treatment options for treating shingles and chickenpox. The development of this medication heralded a new era in antiviral therapy. Its selective action and its low levels of toxicity with respect to cells, has made it the recommended treatment option for shingles and chicken pox.
How Does Acyclovir Work?
To understand the working of Acyclovir, it's a good idea to understand how the herpes viruses work in the body. The virus acts in the body by multiplying through replication. As the virus cells begin multiplying, it spreads through the body. The intake of Acyclovir helps arrest the reproduction of the virus, limiting its spread to a particular part of your body. Basically, it stops the virus from spreading all over your body.
When you take in Acyclovir, it inhibits the functioning of those enzymes that the herpes virus uses for replication. This means that the virus can no longer multiply. As the spread of virus stops, so does the spread of its symptoms. This also helps reduce the severity of the symptoms.
Treatment with Acyclovir
Aciclovir is a prescription medication available in dosages of 200mg, 400mg and 800mg. The doctor will take cognizance of your current intake of medications and existing health condition(s) before prescribing the appropriate dosage. Typically, the medication is prescribed at the first sign of an infection. This medication needs to be taken orally with a glass of water and can be taken with or without food. Some people, prescribed Acyclovir have noticed that there is a reduction in the side effects if it's taken with food; especially side effects like stomach upset, diarrhoea and nausea. Chicken pox and shingles can be effectively treated with Valtrex also.
Side Effects of Acyclovir
The use of Acyclovir tablets may cause certain side effects. The nature of the side effects and their severity might be different in different people. Patients taking this medication sometimes suffer from digestive side effects like vomiting, nausea and diarrhoea. Other side effects also include headache, memory loss, fatigue, pain in the legs, sore throat, and swelling of the hands and feet. If you suffer from a side effect that becomes bothersome, it's important that you seek immediate medical help.
The effect of Acyclovir on unborn babies has not yet been understood clearly. So, pregnant women are advised not to take this medication. Also, you might experience a significant improvement in your condition before you complete the recommended dosage. But, it's important that you complete the prescribed dosage and not leave it midway. If you do, it might lead to some complications later on.
Hayden Eck writes articles on various health topics like Sexual Health Treatment and its supplements, which can be treated effectively with like: Valtrex Valaciclovir and Aciclovir Tablets also known as Acyclovir.

Symptoms Found in Chicken Pox and Shingles
Symptoms of Chickenpox (varicella) may vary from patient to patient making us see people that have headaches, flue like symptoms or even fever, that in some cases can reach 105 F, and swollen glands are also included. The incubation period of the chickenpox may also vary from 10 to 20 days, again depending on the patient and its immune system.
This doesn't last much. Shortly after the flue like symptoms have past the rash breaks out. By rash we understand the appearance of tiny red bumps, mostly on the face, chest or abdomen. Spreading relatively quickly, they start to get bigger in a mater of hours forming a blister on a red base. A funny comparison has been found for them: dewdrops on rose petals. At first the fluid in the blisters is clear only to become cloudy during the period of several days and eventually forming a scab and falling of after another four. The number of blister also varies; while some patients of chickenpox have only a few ones, other can have hundreds, on top of that being the fact that they each like crazy. Lasting seven to ten days, the disease causes the patient to have several crops of blisters.
Another type of skin disease would be the shingles (Herpes Zoster) attack. Occurring nearly always on adults, we see it developing on one side of the human body and having three identifiable symptoms.
->Prodrome: a cluster of warning symptoms appearing before the outbreak of the infection.
->The infection begins.
->Postherpetic neuralgi a develops.
Pain is a very common symptom in herpes zoster, often appearing well before the appearance of the rash.
Predrome (pain) - being the first symptom to appear in patients, it appears to be located at the very site where the virus will be re-activating, making the pain be sharp, piercing, tearing or even similar to an electric shock. Besides pain, the patient might feel that the area is itching or be unbearably sensitive to touch. Muscles aches and even fever are some of the extreme symptoms of the disease. Although usually lasting only a couple of days before the rash, cases have been known where the pain has lasted more ... lot more for weeks or even month.
Active shingles - it marks the actual infection. 50% or 60% of cases occur on the trunk, the side of head being the next big area on witch it appears, making a very big risk the fact that the infection could spread to the mouth or eyes. First a rash appears only to become small fluid-filled blisters in about 12 hours witch eventually grow and become pus filled. The healing last as long as in chickenpox: up to 10 days.
Zoster Sine Herpete is the condition when the pain is not followed by the rash, this thing occurring more often in elder patients, with symptoms very similar to the ones of chickenpox.

Adults Risk To Chicken Pox
Chicken pox is considered to be a mild childhood disease and not detrimental to a patient who is in good health. Did you know for the fact that studies done over the years indicates it is the leading fatality when the statistics are compared to mumps, measles, whooping cough and Haemophilus influenzae type B meningitis.
At least 15,000 people are warded to hospitals each year for this disease, 60% of them being children. On the average from a thousand sufferers only five require hospitalization, and in most case it is none fatal.
The category of people who are at the greatest risk of suffering serious complications from this disease are mostly adults even though infants are also at high risk, forty percent of the mortality rate are still children. That implies a staggering 60% of death associated with chicken pox are adults!
Varicella Zoster virus infection is dangerous to pregnant woman who risk giving birth to baby with serious defects. Adults with very weak immune body system risk bacteria infections, particularly from group A streptococcus bacteria.
Streptococcus bacteria secondary infection as a indirect result of chicken pox albeit being mild can in some circumstances leads to fatality as it spreads to muscle, skin soft tissue, fat or even the blood resulting in toxic shock syndrome, commonly recognize as the dreaded necrotizing fasciitis infection( also better known as flesh-eating bacteria) even though it is very rare.
Adults are also more prone to bone and join infections, pneuomonia and in some rare cases brain infection. Adult with weak immune system also risk getting shingles even after they have recover from chicken pox.

Vaccines Side Effects - Chicken Pox Vaccination
More and more children are given different types of vaccines. Chicken pox vaccine is one such and it is gaining wider acceptance throughout the world. Despite the significant reduction of this highly contageous viral infection throughout the years with the introduction of this immunization programme, is it thruly safe and effective?
I can remember all of my 10 siblings having the Chicken Pox back in the 1950's along with all of our neighbor's children. When I was growing up, Chicken Pox was considered a "passage into adolescence" and it was not feared.
The death rate for chicken pox has dropped just like tuberculosis, scarlet fever, pertussis and measles due to improved sanitation, improved nutrition (better distribution of fruits and vegetables) and improved water supply from 1900 to 1940's.
By the 1950's it was no longer the health threat it used to be. I was perplexed when they came out with the vaccine because it was for most, a benign illness that helped build the immune system.
Although it can be a serious illness and certainly not fun, I never heard of anyone dying from the illness while growing up. Out of my five unvaccinated children whom all got the chicken pox, I had one son who had it very hard and was pretty ill for about a week.
I know first-hand how disruptive the illness can be for the family. Yes, chicken pox is an inconvenient illness, but not life threatening for most children. It is only dangerous for those who are immune compromised. If the vaccine protected us as implied, this vulnerable group of kids would perhaps benefit from the shot.
That is not the case. Statistically, there are outbreaks of chicken pox in highly vaccinated populations calling for concerns of efficacy. It is a live virus vaccine that carries risk for the whole family and has never been tested for long-term safety.
If one looks carefully, you will discover that the vaccine was designed for the employers and the working mothers who didn't want time lose at work. You will also discover it is a financial windfall for the vaccine makers. Let us look deeper into the known side effects since the vaccine was introduced in 1995.
• Sept. 2005- New research published in the International Journal of Toxicology (IJT) by Gary S. Goldman, Ph.D., reveals high rates of shingles (herpes zoster) in Americans since the government's 1995 recommendation that all children receive chicken pox vaccine.
Dr. Goldman's findings have corroborated other independent researchers who estimate that if chickenpox were to be nearly eradicated by vaccination, the higher number of shingles cases could continue in the U.S. for up to 50 years; and that while death rates from chickenpox are already very low, any deaths prevented by vaccination will be offset by deaths from increasing shingles disease.
Another recent peer-reviewed article authored by Dr. Goldman and published in Vaccine presents a cost-benefit analysis of the universal chicken pox (varicella) vaccination program. Goldman points out that during a 50-year time span, there would be an estimated additional 14.6 million (42%) shingles cases among adults aged less than 50 years, presenting society with a substantial additional medical cost burden of $4.1 billion.
This translates into $80 million annually, utilizing an estimated mean healthcare provider cost of $280 per shingles case. Gary S. Goldman, Ph.D. served for eight years as a Research Analyst with the Varicella Active Surveillance Project conducted by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (LACDHS). The project was funded by the CDC. Dr. Goldman, Ph.D., currently serves as founder and Editor-in- Chief of the peer-reviewed medical journal Medical Veritas (MedicalVeritas.com). He recently authored five manuscripts concerning varicella, herpes zoster, and capture-recapture published in the European journal called Vaccine.
• March 1998 - The National Vaccine Information Center reported that three (3) short years after the vaccine was licenses there were over 6,574 adverse reports to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) with 82% were from people who got the vaccine only.
The VAERS data has lead to the addition of 17 adverse events to the manufacturer's product label since the vaccine was licensed for use in 1995, including secondary bacterial infections (cellulitis), secondary transmission (infection of close contacts), transverse myelitis, Guillain Barre syndrome and herpes zoster (shingles).
Congressional Records prove that only 10% of all adverse events get reported! That is proof that the vaccine manufactures do not study the vaccine well enough before releasing it on an unsuspecting public.
It is this researcher's opinion that there are benefits to allowing our children to get this infectious illness. The focus should be on how can we support the human body as it gets exposed naturally in life to these beneficial illness that build natural life-time immunity!
We must not be arrogant enough to think that we can eliminate or manipulate this world of natural occurring infections. I believe these natural infections will insure a healthier human race in the long-run. I believe the vaccines side effects are far worse than the illness.
We can enhance immunity through good nutrition, healthy lifestyle, the use of vitamins and minerals and supportive therapies such as chiropractic for improved nervous system and immune system function and development.
Only when we as a nation change our attitudes about healthcare will we see the changes needed to insure our national health. That requires more personal responsibility and a shift of consciousness which I believe is taking place. I will leave you to ponder one of my favorite quotes:
"The significant problem we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created the problem." Albert Einstein
Mary has been independently researching vaccines for over 30 years and has been publicly speaking for the last 15 years. Mary's goal is to educate parents in order to assist them in making a fully informed vaccine decision.

Scars From Chicken Pox – How To Get Rid Of It
Even though chicken pox is considered a mild disease that usually affect children of age 12 years and below, adults can also catch it if they have not develop immunity to it. This is usually the case if one has not contracted it in their childhood years.
Very few serious complications if any associated with this virus infection. At most the obvious and visible indication of it is the scars left on your body after you have fully recovered from it.
It takes a lot of persistent efforts to withstand the itch all over your body and not scratching it no matter how unbearable it feels. No matter how hard you try, it is inevitable and high chance that you will scratch those itchy sores in your body, unconsciously and occasionally while you are asleep.
The extend of blisters and the amount of time it takes to heal and disappear completely from your skin depends a lot on how bad you scratch it during the outbreak. The main concern with the rash and is that the blisters and pus breaks with little or no pressure apply to it.
There is a wide range of OTC (off the shelf counter) scar lotions available to help reduce pock marks and blisters. Topical cream which contains vitamin E helps the skin to smooth and radiate.
